This review is for a 1 day night hike to see the sunrise. My buddies and I just got back from climbing, or rather hiking, not sure why people say they climbed Mt Fuji when really you just hike up a maintained trail. Either way this trip is fresh in my mind so here is my experience. We are all... More

Most of the guides and webpages you will find when researching Mt Fuji are geared towards the general population, not an endurance athlete such as runner, cyclist, or triathlete. I just completed a marathon this spring (3:18) and currently am near my peak training for a 70.3 half ironman so I can offer some advice for those who are in... More

Mt. Fuji is really the most beautiful mountain all over the world! Here's how our Mt. Fuji tour goes... Mt. Fuji Tour & Hakone return by Shinkansen with Lunch (USD167) - Chartered bus going to 5th Station and Fuji Visitor Center (souvenir shopping). They gave us coupons wherein we can claim the free lucky bell. Cute! - With Lunch -... More

I had done the research and travelling from Tokyo to 5th stage was much easier than I expected, very straightforward. Despite being in my 50's I thought I was quite fit but this climb was difficult. The start is quite straightforward and it gets tougher. I gave up at the 8.5 stage. I slept at the 8 stage and got... More

I booked from Australia through Viator. They picked us up from the hotel at 7:30am and took us into Tokyo to change buses. All well organised. About 2 hours on the bus with a very chatty English speaking guide The 5th station has a temple and souvenir shops. No sight of the mountain, clouds in the way. Taken then to... More

My wife and I did a one day tour with Sunrise Tour that included coach ride up to 5th station of Mt Fuji, Onsen (bath) experience and Gotemba Factory Outlets. Mt Fuji is really beautiful with its symmetric slopes. We were very lucky to have great weather and great view of the mountain. But we have been told that when... More

We arrived before 7am & were told we could only order porridge which my friend liked or 2 rice cakes with unpleasant broth & turnips. Eat ahead of time. They do have more options later but not sure if quality would be better. This is where you can stock up on souvenirs, walking stick highly recommended.

We booked through Viator and went with Sunrise Tours. The hotel pickups and general organisation of the tour was very. It went to timetable despite heavy traffic which our driver seemed to dodge. Our guide, Marie, spoke good English and was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. Unfortunately it was a very cloudy day and we didn't... More
