The Natural History Museum, Bulawayo has made a number of changes and additions to its displays including the long awaited Coelacanth display and Mzilikazi's bust. So well worth a visit. More

Every year, we as the Natural History Museum, Bulawayo join the rest of the world to celebrate International Museum Day which falls on the 18th of May 2012. All are invited to come for a hands-on experience with speciments and question and answer sessions in the galleries with all the curators. More

We were very pleasantly surprised by the museum. Very interesting exhibits, well documented showing both the natural and social history of the country. Our visit was too short. More

My husband & I visited this museum and had mixed feelings. Having volunteered for the Natural History Museum in our own city, I was saddened by the physical condition of the Bulawayo museum (exhibit cases with burned out lights, old tattered carpeting, couches with torn seats and stuffing foam visible). We went to the Natural History Museum during our stay in Bulawayo in june 2010. Besides the fact that the price difference between locals and foreigners is a bit exagerated (USD 3 for locals, USD 10 for foreigners) and that they want to charge you USD 5 for 5 pictures if you want to take your camera, the museum has... Leopold Takawira Avenue. Officially opened in 1964, the Museum contains some superb and unique displays with exibits illustrating the history, mineral wealth and wildlife of Zimbabwe, including the second largest mounted elephant in the world. ive been to this place a few time it a very old under funded place i think its what museums in england must have been like in 1962 i do nt think this place has added much since you have to fill out a form to get in and show id to get in then they want usd if not... More
