Our last night of the trip, we all dressed for an old fashioned dinner train experience. We met lovely people and it was vey delicious. Lots of wine as well

The experience was pleasant but not exceptional. We were greeted with welcoming cocktails and then the journey began. We went through the park and saw very little wildlife. We did pass through some villages which was interesting and very warming when the children came running to wave at us. There was a 5 course meal - service took some time... More

The royal Livingstone express is a restored classic steam train. For a train enthusiast, the four hour dining experience in a classic train is worth the almost 200 dollar per person fare.

What a wonderful way to travel, it must of been incredible for those who traveled this way around Africa years ago. A brilliant view of the falls from the bridge, plus a wonderful meal (5 course). This is a must do if you visit Livingstone, as you will not be disappointed. This great snap shot of railway history must continue,... More

The train broke down and we spent most of the trip with no air conditioning. Having seen the beautiful dining cars and looking forward to a 5 star 5 course meal it was very disappointing. The most distressing was that the service provider did not seem to care, did not apologise for the inconvenience and did not in the least... More

A friend and I had 3 days in Livingstone & decided to do this for one of our evening meals but what we enjoyed was so much more. The train itself is beautiful, the service excellent, food was scrumptious & the wine delicious & plentiful. One of the unexpected highlights of the short journey was the conversation conducted by a... More

We had a wonderful time on the livingstone express . Greeted with red carpet and free drinks , decorated beautifully inside . You get wonderful views from the falls bridge , and a 5 course dinner with plenty of wine! I even got to sit up with the driver and pulled the whistle ! A great way to spend a... More

This was my husband and I’s 8th wedding anniversary and we traveled with two of our friends and visited South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, and Kenya. We ended up booking our entire stay with the exception of Cape Town through AfricanMecca whom I will review separately. One of the excursions we decided to take while in Zambia was this dinner train... More

I expected a relaxing evening, we were welcomed with drinks and red carpet, the staff did their utmost. the food was good as the hefty price makes one expect! the train has beautiful décor but I was surprised by the small number of people ....we were 13 including two guides| In our case, unfortunately the train was derailed early on... This is a luxury must do. Board the old colonial steam train about 5.00pm have a few cocktails or the local Mosi beer ..highly recommended...and chug down to the famous bridge over the gorge above the falls that links Zambia and Zimbabwe ..old north and South Rhodesia, watch the sunset and sit down for dinner on the return...you don't go...
