The idea behind our tour is simple:in Hoi An there are around 350 restaurants catering to visitors with another 500 or so vendors and eating establishments catering to locals with foods that don’t usually appear on visitor menus. This is the food of the local Hoi An people - some call it street food - many with recipes passed down from generation to generation. Our tour gives visitors a safe opportunity to try these foods – we ensure the food is handled hygienically and provide a comfortable venue for the tastings. « less

Doing a Vietnamese food tour is a must. Sadly this one was ruined by the presentation, which was self-centred and crude. Go for a Vietnamese led tour, not this one.

Hoi An is a wonderful place, and this is your opportunity to understand more about their fantastic food and culture. This tour has an abundance of tastings (40+), an informative, enthusiastic and entertaining guide, and is very well organised. Neville, Colleen, Sen and the team amazing people. Great value for money, and simply should not be missed! Cheers and thanks... More

We tried about 8 different foods. Loved walking through the streets and stopping and either a street stall or a cafe to try the local cuisine. Our tour guide Hom and her apprentice Hien were very informative about the local culture and foods. Really enjoyed this tour and there is a little surprise at the end.

Possibly the best food-travel-experience I have ever had. Neville's enthusiasm, knowledge, kindness and awareness of local custom is without compare. Every one of the 43 dishes we tasted was an experience in itself. Sure it is long, but if 3-4 hours of tasting and learning about food and it's culture is not your thing, then don't go, because there's a... More

After reading Paul E the Pom's review and personal insults towards Neville, it reinforces that some people just cannot be pleased! We have been on Neville's food tour annually for the past three years, most recently in March 2014 and eagerly await our return to beautiful Hoi An in 2015 so we can spend another delightful, interesting, value for money... I must say that I cannot understand the previous review or the reason for the writer's intense dislike of Neville Dean. My husband and I found Neville to be extremely knowledgeable, humorous and entertaining throughout our tour. Frankly, we were amazed at Neville's ability to speak almost non-stop for four hours but still keep his customers interested in most everything... More

Second tour in two years with Neville, Colleen and their local team. You must book this tour and try to do it as early as you can into your stay in Hoi An. Lots of local knowledge and broader than food recommendations along the way. This year we took 7 kids ranging from 6-16 and they loved it! Neville was... More

This tour was the highlight of our 3 days in Hoi An. Neville is fabulous and gave us some great restaurant suggestions as well. He and his staff particularly enjoyed chatting to my husband, who is a teaching chef here in Australia. Read everyone's 'great' comments, they are all true. You will have a fun and full day. They know... More

My family of 6 did this tour and found it fascinating. We were able to try a whole range of different Vietnamese foods and vendors that we would not normally have found. Some of them we went back to repeatedly during our holidays, and the ice cream sticks from the pedal vans remain a highlight for my youngest. The tour... More

If you've never done a food tour, spend the money and educate your mouth, senses, and mind. If you have done food tours before, then you must try - it may be the best one yet. Neville shares so much great information that you need to take notes to remember it all (many people on our tour were). Conscientious with... More
