My husband and I had a lovely time attending the Green Bamboo cooking class. We spent the morning shopping at the market, and Van took the time to explain to us all the ingredients we were buying and how to choose the best ones. (The market was a lot of fun for us, but if you're squeamish or sensitive to... More

This cooking class with Phan is great fun. In the morning you get picked up to go to the market. You learn about all the food they have, which puts all the food you eat in Vietnam in a whole new perspective! The cooking itself was great fun. We were with a group of 8, which means you also learn... More

My parter and I did Van's cooking class and what a brilliant day it was. Van picked us up from our hotel, took us to the market and taught us all about Vietnamese food then we went back to her home and cooked up a storm. It was a small group of 10 and she made us feel part of... More

Many friends recommended that we spend a day at a cooking school whilst in Hoi An, and the guide book didn't disagree. The problem was the sheer number of choices available in this town. Having read the online reviews we decided to go with Green Bamboo - and I'm happy to say, it was the correct choice. The morning is... More

My boyfriend and I spent a day at Green Bamboo learning from Van. We were delighted. Not only is she a warm and engaging hostess, she is a tremendous cook who is full of knowledge and anecdotes to share. The small class (10 people max) allows you to ask more questions and really immerse yourself in the cooking experience. Since... More

I took part in this class to fill a day while staying with friends working in Hoi an. Van was very pleasant to communicate with prior to the class and nothing seemed too much effort for her. The trip round the market was interesting and she made good recommendations. Van's house was beautiful with a lovely atmosphere. It was interesting... More

Such a wonderful day. Van is a wonderful host, guiding you around the market to buy the ingredients that you then get to cook in her lovely home. The whole day from start to finish is so professional and well organised. Each person got to cook a dish on their own and try everyone else's. We were so full! I... More
