We enjoyed our lantern making class and felt guided and supported throughout. We enjoyed learning about the background of the foundation and the people it is helping. The laidback attitude in the shop is a welcome change to most shops in Hoi An. Thank you for helping us create such a personal souvenir.

The traditional painting and lantern making class are a great, unique experience that will leave you with two new skills and a deeper understanding of life in Vietnam. The teachers for both classes were talented, fun, friendly and informative. They taught us everything step by step and we had a great time creating our 'artworks' and learning about the local... Really enjoyed the traditional painting class and the lantern making. Was really glad we went -- I am not very artistic, but was pleasantly surprised with how proud I was of my hand painted card!

I enjoyed visiting the Lifestart gift shop in Hoi An. We would love to attend the workshops next time we visit Vietnam. Browsing the gift shop however gave some insight into the organisation and its aims. The staff were extremely friendly and informative, the items for sale were lovely and beautifully presented. We were "on the road" for Christmas and... More

Our lantern making course was fun, inspirational and informative. To be able to support the work at lifestart through this course is an added bonus. At the end of the session my ten year old daughter said, "I learnt how to make lanterns AND I learnt so much about life in Vietnam.....I learnt more today than in the other three... More

After repeatedly being ripped off by other tour operators in Vietnam. This tour to learn the art of Vietnam painting and lantern making is one of the best and rewarding one I have the pleasure of joining. Well done to sponsors, staff and volunteers. Great to see that the disadvantaged is not taken advantage of to line pockets of businessmen... More

We attended the painting class and lantern making class, and enjoyed a morning of doing something different which was also a worthwhile cause. There was just two of us doing the class so it had the advantage of being like a private class as well. Neither of us are artists, but the painter did a wonderful job of breaking the... More

The Lifestart foundation, a non-profit organization founded by an Australian expat to provide opportunities for the local disabled and disadvantaged community, has a half-day painting and lantern making workshop. It's well worth it. The day starts out with an offsite visit to a painting studio. Normally, it's a boat ride, but today they provided taxis because of the heavy rain... More

These handicapped people are working hard for their livings. Their products are lovely, sophisticated and environment friendly at reasonable prices. They're not pushing tourists to buy. A short introduction to their products and they lave you freely walk around to see. Help them !!!
