Description:

Thuan Tinh Island is a small isolated island, around 3.5 km far from Hoi An Ancient Town, on Thu Bon River. Thuan Tinh Island is an eco-friendly island rich in tropical foliage making it a beautiful place to cook, relax and then enjoy the dishes you've created, Thuan Tinh Island Cooking Tour. We organize daily cooking classes at Thuan Tinh Island: pick-up at the hotels in Hoi An area. You will make your first stop at the market to purchase some fresh and locally grown herbs, before joining a river boat ride in 30 minutes to Thuan Tinh for a relaxing meander through what has been officially recognised as an ecological zone. To visit the local Village, we take a row boat ride through the water coconut trees. We then walk through the gardens to visit a local family and snack on grilled rice cakes and iced tea. From there, we head back to our open-air cooking class overlooking the water coconut trees and river. Our chefs will show you how to make Vietnamese food while you enjoy the cool breeze and peaceful setting. That is much more than simply a cooking class as a journey to discover the eco island that makes you satisfied.

Slightly more original than the usual cooking school experience as they take you through the fresh food market to buy the ingredients, then take you up river on a boat to a nice location. The food is nice and the lesson suitable for any skill level. You won't leave hungry either.

We were told to go here by our homestay for a more "authentic experience". We started in the markets and then had a 60 minute boat ride to the school. Unfortunately it was extremely cold during our boat ride so it wasn't very enjoyable!!! That's no fault of theirs. It was clearly a well-oiled machine. We felt a bit rushed... More

Our tour started at 11:45 when we got picked up from our hotel. We were taken to the market located in the Ancient town where we met our guide. Our group size turned out to only be 6 people which was great! We were each given a basket and began shopping for the ingredients we would use later on in... More

We were actually planning on booking one of the more "famous" classes but chose this one as our hotel recommended it. We are SO glad we picked this one. The service was seamless: they picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back, the organisers were professional and friendly, the cookery class itself was unbelievably slick (in a good... More

Very well organised, interesting tour combined with an excellent and professional hands-on cooking class. Big recommendation, especially with our guide Thrang (did i spell that right?).

Went on the night cooking tour with my adult daughter and as we were the only ones, we had a private class which was great. We were shown how to prepare and cook each dish, including all the dips and sauces. The food we made was very fresh and delicious. Trung and Thi made the night a lot of fun.... More

I first read about this must do on a few blogs and decided to check it out when I got to Hoi An! It did not disappoint. Chef Hon picked us up from our hotel and we got a couple others along the way before we headed to the market. It was such an interesting and great cultural experience for... More

An absolute must do if you are in Hoi An. Collected from our hotel and the day starts with a tour through the market where our guide explained all the ingredients we would be cooking with. Then a 45 minute boat trip to the island and you arrive at a lovely rural setting away from the town. We cooked 4... More

The whole day was very well organised. The group was bit large, which meant that at the market people couldn't hear the guide or got lost, but once we had arrived at the cooking location, everything was superbly organised for large groups. There is a lot of staff and everything is taken care of swiftly. However, this also means there... More

We had a great time going to the market in the morning to learn about the ingredients and picking them out with chef Viu (Happy) and our guide Jan. Both were very nice and enjoyable. They specifically asked and happily accommodated dietary needs and preferences. It was interesting to learn about some of the ingredients and dishes that are traditional... More
