Surprisingly enjoyable experience done with wife and teenage daughters. Short boat trip to market. Good tour of fish and fruit/veggies with chance to try Vietnamese tropical fruit. Being from Melbourne, this felt quite at home given our large Vietnamese population. Our tour guide, Lu, was friendly and fun. Then back to try the market foods at Vy's, then cook our... More

I have taken several cooking classes and really enjoyed this one. It was so well organized! We first went to the market and learned about local ingredients, then tasted about 12 types of food at various stations back at the cooking school. We then moved into the cooking area, which was set up a lot like a chemistry lab. A... More

We spend some hours in mrs. Vy's cooking school, and they were really spoiling us with the greatest food you can imagine. Our expectations were fully fulfilled. The atmosphere in the cooking school was really authentic. Both the information about the food and the instruction about how to preparate the dishes were well communicated. If you love Vietnamese food we... More

On arrival, I had very high expectations as Vys market restaurant supplies Morning Glory (also in Hoi An which was superb!). Nevertheless, the beef in black pepper was over cooked and somewhat dry, whilst the chicken in both the noodle dish and BBQ chicken and lime was very gooey - and after a couple of bites, we felt uncomfortable eating... Just don't believe the lies. This place is bog standard for Vietnamese food and they do not do anything to ensure their meat is kept fresh or refrigerated throughout the day in 35 degree (Celsius) heat. I sent my chicken (BBQ and lime) back as it was undercooked and I feared for my health. They cooked me another one which... More

We did a cooking class which was just okay. The guides was excellent and kind expect did a big chunk of the cooking for us. The class was very long and a lot of it was just walking around the restaurant. I would have liked it to be shorter. If doing this tour don't eat breakfast in tho morning because... More

The cooking course was very good we were brought around to new stations and shown techniques and traditional Vietnamese food. But beware not to have a big breakfast before hand as there is a lot of food but very nice. The guide was nice and we were given recipes of everything we made which is great!

As it says, a hard one to put a rating to. It seems to be more geared up to the expensive buffet option than the touchscreen (really!) a la carte menu. Service was fairly slow even though it was quiet when we ordered (that soon changed!!) but the food was not always what we ordered. My starter of crab (open)... More

The day started with a boat trip to the market, it was a little difficult to see and hear the guide throughout the market but it was a great experience. Back to the cooking school and prepared 4 different dishes at individual work station - our teacher was great - the only complaint would be that the class was only... More
