We had a really fun day out with the cooking school. Came away with a few more cooking skills. Best parts were the tour of the markets with one of the local chefs and the chef who was teaching us. He was an absolute hoot. So funny. Overall great day well worth it.

We had already walked through the market going down to the cafe location of the meeting point. We met our guide in a courtyard cafe right in the old town. A chef took us through the markets which was a totally different experience when you have someone telling you what everything is - it was brilliant. We then boarded a... More

We took this course early in our trip to Vietnam and were glad we did. We prepared a number of dishes we would encounter and order again and again. It's not a terribly technical cooking course so it's suitable for total beginners but a little rudimentary for a seasoned cook of Southeast Asian food. I will say that the chef... More

The Red Bridge Cookery school was an excellent way to spend the day. Their full day package is, in my view, great value. Go for the full day and get the whole experience from the tour of local villages and farms, to the market and the boat trip at the end. Food is excellent, instruction is top notch, there's a... This cooking class is very enjoyable and includes a guided tour through the local market and a trip on a boat to the cooking class. The class was enjoyable and informative and my only criticism is that the group of about 20 people may be a bit too big especially when the food is prepared at shared tables. This included... More

Everything about the experience in this "Restaurant and Cooking School " was excellent. If you have half a day at Hoian this US$30 dollar will give you more than any other way you can spend $30. AND a delicious lunch at the end. Only improvement this place should consider is to build more toilets.

A little confusingly, Hai Cafe morphs into Red Bridge Cooking School and offers a variety of cooking classes of differing lengths. We had a fun two hour cooking class for around $20US with half a dozen international participants under the instruction of the effervescent Chinh (Gin) who enjoyed a bit of a laugh with the class. Class members helped in... More

Fantastic. An informative and rewarding trip of the gardens and market. A detailed clear and concise preparation of a four course meal. Helpful and friendly staff made it a fun and thoroughly enjoyable event. Outstanding value.

We were on a cruise ship and pre booked our cooking lesson and transport before we left. Loved Hoi An and wish we could have stayed overnight. A pretty town undamaged by the war. Lots of markets both produce and goods, silk scarves, lacquer ware etc. The lesson was well worth the US$30. Great to correspond with by email and... More

What a fantastic day I had, started with trip to the local markets and our guide explaned what the different herbs were used for, even though there were lotts of meat and fish for sale there was no smell and no flys. We then took a boat ride down the river to the cooking school where we were met by the head... More
