A well organised day, including an informed tour of the morning market, a boat trip along the river to the cooking school and then a delightful session of hands on cooking with lovely fresh ingredients

We booked this through our travel agent and it was disappointing. We were picked up by our travel agent's guide to take us to town, then reality set in - we were part of a large group [gulp]. We thought it was a private class but there were two long boat loads of people. We did the market tour in... More

OK, so if you have the basic skills to make a sandwich you're not going to learn a great deal, but I guess thats because theres not a great amount of technique required for Vietnamese food, We did manage to make fresh spring rolls, rice pankake rolls and a clay pot - all of which were pretty basic but tasted... I had high hopes for the Red Bridge cooking class, so maybe I was set up to be disappointed. The half-day class included a market tour, a boat ride to the restaurant/school, an herb garden tour, the cooking demo/practice, and lunch. It's quite a bit to fit into half a day, so things feel a bit crammed. The market tour... More

We three foodies thoroughly enjoyed this Central Market tour/cooking class. We did the 1/2 day morning class from 8:15-1:15 that started at the Hai Cafe for a "welcome drink," then proceeded on to the market - where the explanations of the different food offerings and cooking tools used in Vietnamese cooking was incredibly well done. The boat ride to the... More

Having been to cooking schools overseas before I was slightly dubious but I was pleasantly surprised. This was a well organised, professional outfit. We started with a tour of the herb/vegetable garden which was very interesting. The school was situated outside in a covered area complete with a professional mirror so everyone could see. The demonstrations were clear then repeated... More

We recently took the family to Vietnam, our 3 children are aged between 9 and 15. We all loved the Red Bridge cooking school experience. The guide was so much fun and really got us motivated and very well informed. We traveled by boat and the captain got each of the children searing, which they loved. The cooking class was... More

Red Bridge was one of the high lights of our time in Viet Nam. It's always fun to meet the people of the area you're visiting but to not only meet them but get to shop and cook with them is fantastic! My daughter and I signed up for the Deluxe Day which is 1:30 til about 8:30pm. Space is... More

My experience of the red bridge cooking school was enjoyable yet professional from the beginning to the end. The guide who took us to the organic garden village to the market and then to the cooking school was friendly and made jokes throughout the afternoon but still informative and answered any questions the group had. The chef at the school... More

I was hoping this would be an enjoyable experience and was not disappointed. With a friend and my teenage daughter we first went to the local market with our host, selected ingredients and then boarded a small boat for a short, picturesque ride to the restaurant/cooking school. What a location! We were shown how to make rice paper, the delicious... More
