The museum is a house with 4 or 5 rooms (can't recall now). Two of them are bedrooms, but they do lack some utensils and furniture a typical colonial portuguese house would have.
I really enjoyed the kitchen and its wood run stove. That actually reminded me of my grandmother's house in the arid area of the Brazilian northeast.

This was the best museum in the group. We enjoyed the regal look of the furniture and clothing artifacts. We happened to travel the weekend of the nation's bicentennial so they offered free admissions. But each museum costs only about $2, so the price is right.

I feel this way about most of the museums that I saw in Colonia -- the museum was very well maintained, and it was inexpensive, but there wasn't really a whole lot to see. Probably worth taking a look at, but don't go in with huge expectations.

I visited this museum after my walking tour around Colonia. Entrance is quite inexpensive, I think I paid 50 Uruguayan Pesos (maybe 2-3 USD$) for entry, but Argentine pesos and USD are not accepted. A bonus is admission also gets you in to 6-7 other museums around town.
