To get to the top of the Lighthouse you have to climb up a winding staircase that yes is small and really only room for one person to go up or down but we did manage to let someone pass that was coming down as we were going up. It's only 20 Argentinian pesos to go up so you must... More

The lighthouse is not open all the time, so pay attention at the visiting hours. There is a 20 peso fee (it also accepts Argentinian pesos and Brazilian reais), and you should be physically fit to climb the stairs. If you are claustrophobic, forget about it. I also recommend taking a jacket, since it is very windy up the lighthouse.... More

I have to think some of this visit is weather-driven, and we had a good one. Just tooling around here was a blast. The locals are so colorful. We rented a large golf cart, traveled all over town! Great day trip from B.A.

Costs $20 Uruguay peso to climb the light house. Not for the claustrophobic or if you're quite tall as the climb up is very narrow and not many windows, it gets quite tight as you get to the last "level" of stairs, so if you're brave enough it's well worth the view!

We booked a day tour. It was a nightmare of 4 hours between arriving , failing and getting back to Buenos Aires. The boat broke for lack of maintenance and had to be towed back, full of smoke. Nerve wrecking experience. Manager extremely rude.

Great view of Colonia del Sacramento. The stairs are a bit slender and tricky to manage but its worth going up to see the view.

Nice view upstairs. The stairs are trick and difficult to go up. Very tiny stairs, young children cannot go. Old people might face issues.

Excellent overview of Colonia, and to check out the historic lighthouse. Plenty of spiral staircase stairs to walk up and down!

We visited on a day trip from Buenos Aires and really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of this colonial landmark. The light house is one of the main attractions and the main square is very pretty with cobbled streets. The lighthouse is built over the ruins of a convent and so it's a great opportunity for a good photo -... More
