I had been to the maritime museum along with students of my school. its a great experience since the museum curator actually explains all that u need to know about each and every boat , ropes, how they traded pearls etc etc. there many informative videos played out at the background. its a good ride into the past.

Very near to Sharjah Aquarium, hence plan your visit along with the Aquarium. Very informative and well maintained museum. Kids should definitely learn new things here.

Very informative small museum, close to Sharjah aquarium. Better plan to visit with aquarium visit. We can see old fishing accessories used.

The maritime museum is located in a fairly new building next the the waterfront in Sharjah. It's also next to the aquarium. There is plenty of free parking next to the museum/aquarium. The ticket is 10 AED for the museum, but you can buy a combination ticket including the aquarium. The museum is fairly small, but packed full of boats... More

A well designed, sharply focused educational museum. The large model boats and the explanations were fascinating. Pearl trade exhibits well designed. The museum is of moderate size, but offers a solid intro to its subject. The ticket price is included n the ticket for the aquarium. The two make a convenient two hour pavkage visit.

Disclaimer: I geek out on both history and most things naval. That being said, I can't recommend this enough. It is small, true, but they cram a huge amount into the space they have and that's not counting what they've done with it. There's a few things going on, but I'll start with the exhibits. They have a series of... More

Small but full of a wide variety of boats -- the heart of the origins of Sharjah and Dubai. Pearling description, boat-building techniques, and lots of historical examples. Focused and well-done.

Fantastic place. I was fascinated with the personal way in which the maritime story was delivered. Fascinating, seeing videos of real people sharing their life histories was very touching. Amazing museum. Personally this was a triple whammie for me because I love fish, pearls and sailing. I should also mention how polite and helpful the staff were. They looked after... More
