Small but full of a wide variety of boats -- the heart of the origins of Sharjah and Dubai. Pearling description, boat-building techniques, and lots of historical examples. Focused and well-done.

Fantastic place. I was fascinated with the personal way in which the maritime story was delivered. Fascinating, seeing videos of real people sharing their life histories was very touching. Amazing museum. Personally this was a triple whammie for me because I love fish, pearls and sailing. I should also mention how polite and helpful the staff were. They looked after... More

The Maritime museum provides various information about the history of fishing, pearl, and various other products of sea. They have exhibited the models of boats, fishing gears etc used in olden times. It mainly covers the Middle East Region. Maritime museum is in same premises as that of Sharjah Aquarium, and I prefer Museum more than aquarium. Please do not... More

I learnt a lot from the Maritime Museum. Was totally unaware of the fishing and pearling history of the area.

The region has a rich ancient maritime history and I expected a little more than there was. They have a few Dhows, fishing boats etc in the museum but there is potential for much more. The museum is in a modern building just beside the Sharjah Aquarium (which by the way is closed on Sunday)

Located bang opposite to the aquarium. The entry fee is combined for both aquarium and maritime museum i.e. 20 DHS for adult. Ample car parking and very neat garden for people and children to sit. The aquarium area also houses open air restaurants. The museum is very neatly displayed with a huge ship at centre of the museum.

A boat lover, or person who likes to build boats and make models, would love this museum. But even for land lovers it was very interesting and came alive with interactive displays and videos of people who actually experienced life at sea. Gives good insight into the economy and trade of days gone by.
