We went to the Heritage Museaum, which is small but quite impressive. There you see how life was before the oil, and how it has been transformed, in such a small period of time. I would recommend strongly to visit this heritage museum.

UAE include 7 emirates. Sharjah is the neighbouring emirate of Dubai. It includes an old historical Heritage Area. Big Bus Tours provides a free 3.5 hour tour to Sharjah with the Dubai's Big Bus Tours' 48 hour ticket. Hence this new city with a lot of heritage can be visited for free. We took it, and had a luck to... More

The Heritage Museum and its surrounding museums are very well organised and provide an interesting insight into the history and customs of Sharjah. There are the inside galleries but also an outside space and roof top areas to visit. Nearby are other small museums including an original school building which was very interesting and had a very welcoming custodian who... More

The staff here are awesome and the place very interesting. If you like learning about the natural, ancient history of the Emirates and the region, then this is the best place I could recommend. Some of the artifacts are incredible, and really paint an alternative image of what life was like in the Emirates.

It was interesting to see the way that the people lived only 40 years ago before the oil was found, and the heritage of the Tribes where the rulers from Dubai and Abu Dhabi come from. There are photos of their ancestors living as a Bedouins and they have come so far but still take care of their people as... More

The heritage village is located in a part of town where there is lots of renovation going on and is parallel to a large shopping area. Many of the local taxi drivers do not know where it is, so look for the sign for Heritage village and get off on the main street. Unfortunately, there is one small sign & if... More

This place is only active late afternoon. Until then its a ghost town in the centre of Sharjah and can fell a little creepy as you tour the area. With shops full of items but no one about. We arrived mid-day but places like this are best seen in the weekend evening
