I have visited a number of Islamic museums in a number of different countries and while this is probably the most well funded it was really underwhelming. Whoever is in charge should really sit down and think about what exhibits would best serve the stated purpose of such a museum. I suggest an exhibit on the Prophet Muhammad(SAW) including historical... More

This is a beautifully presented museum. The working models explaining the scientific discoveries are grest. A superb collection of astrolobes and lobes. The second floor has a myriad of wondefful examples of Islamic art with excellent explanations. I took 2 days to wonder through it. Highly recommended.

Huge and wonderful Islamic museum. I was surprised why I miss it in all times I visited Sharjah. The contents of the museum are diverse and informative. Showing the Islamic civilization in whole. I will let the photos speak.

There's a lot of reviews for this, so I'll just give my take. The building is beautiful, with clean bathrooms, a decent cafe (the upstairs cafe is downright posh), nice gift shop, and great location right on the corniche. It's divided into roughly 8 galleries (4 top, 4 bottom). On the ground floor, there is a gallery with a good... More

In Sharjah along the Corniche road is a beautiful building that houses the Museum of Islamic Civilization. It is five dirham to enter and pictures are allowed without flash. The museum is big and has several galleries. There are engineering marvels, astrolabes used with astronomical timekeeping, rare and old coins, weapons, Qorans and much more. There was a seminar going... More

We visited this museum during a tour of Sharjah. We found it fascinating, particularly the exhibit on Islamic science. The museum is located in a beautiful building.

Very good museum. Quite interesting. Beautiful building from outside as well as inside. Even if you are not interested in history, you can't get bore. Photography is allowed.
