Well worth a visit

Rooms in the old fort are full of history of the city. The fort Was the home of the ruler. After the visit take a walk to the sea front and wander round the local shops.

Lovely venue but needs upkeep. It was only 5aed so we didn't mind paying but after entering there are no staff to answer questions. Most rooms were locked and some unsafe aspects.

Very nice museum! It`s located in old ford, when lochal kings (Sceikhs) lived in the past. It`s told about the life style of arab inhabitants before oil was found and country become rich. There are a lot of pictures and items of perl fisherman and beduins.

This could easily become a popular attraction if collection is improved. Very nice building with a big courtyard and trees. We expected to see bit of recent history about RAK and governing family but nothing mentioned!

Not the biggest museum but with a lack of places to go in RAK we took a look. Interesting but small collections in nice building to explore. We were glad we went even though we have seen similar things in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Before a week I decided to go to Ras Al Khaimah. To see a part of previous history. It is useful to learn particular facts from a history of a country, where you intend spent several years. And of that which started really to bother of its heritage only about 40 years before. Of course, it is a small building... More

Do you know what happens when you leave a child in a candy store? The same goes with this museum for an archaeologist. The history that goes back 5,000 to 6,000 years, the bones, the tools, the jewellery made from simple items that we take for granted. The museum also gives its visitors an inside view on how the Ruler... More

We thought it would be good to see the museum and learn about the history of the area; 10 minutes later we'd seen everything and left the museum questioning the point of it. If you have ten minutes whilst waiting for taxi or you want somewhere to eat a sandwich in peace then go otherwise avoid.

We should have visited either early morning or in the evening but we went midday so was extremely hot. An amazing experience and I left feeling more educated. Thank you
