As you would expect of a zoo in the desert, if you visit during the heat of the day it will be hot and sunny! The zoo has gone to some effort to provide shade but most of the time you will be in the sun, so even though we were prepared we still had to actively seek out shade... More

Zoo quite easy to find...especially as the approaching roundabout is full of animal statues....and parking is easy and close to the entrance (which will please the locals!) No eye contact at all when we payed, and only when I spotted a pile of free maps did someone else acknowledge us and inform us we could take one. Security on hand... More

A great way to spend a few hours seeing the wildlife housed at the zoo. Exhibits are large, spacious and clean. Viewing options are plentiful. Note - women must wear long pants, skirts or something that covers their knees. Wraps are sold in the gift shop if you forget.

Visited the zoo during Eid holidays.. Never expected to see so much of varieties of animals.. It would have been better if we visit during the colder months. For an entry fee of AED 10 per person, its worth a visit. There are lots of extra activities arranged during the Eid holidays.. Live drumming, painting etc. They also have picnic... More

Visited the Al Ain Zoo back in 2004 and was very disappointed. At that time we roamed around but could not find any animals. What a surprise when I came back this year with my little son and wife to see how much it changed. It's fantastic now, spent several hours walking around and enjoyed it a lot. Definitely recommend... What an amazing experience! We arrived around midday and managed to spend an unexpected 6 - 7 hours wondering around the park and could have easily stayed on longer. On arrival, ticket purchase was a breeze (adults - only AED 20) As you enter, you have the opportunity to rent a buggy for the little ones or you can take... More

+ve's: 1. Fantastic facility 2. Well managed with sign boards, maps & help-counters 3. Cafes, restaurants, etc well spaced out 4. One can easily spend 4-5 hrs (if you dont mind walking that long) 5. Animals at ground level (rather than a pit as in most zoos) where you can see them eye to eye (separated by glass) 6. Fabulous... More

We visited Al Ain Zoo on 4th October 2014. The admission ticket was surprisingly low at AED.20/- only per adult compared to AED.30/- during weekdays and AED.50/- during weekend. It is open from 10am to 10pm. We booked shuttle service at AED.50/- per adult which took us to 4 different stations which allowed us to see the animals. reptiles, birds,... More

I am told that this is one of the largest zoos in the area. They are looking to expand it with a safari next year. The animals looked well looked after and all the staff were friendly.
