Well, if it had a coat of paint it would have got a higher rating. Lovely station deep in the heart of Ukraine and some locals say geographic centre of Europe. I love the hustle and bustle of these provincial European cities and coming off the early night train from Kiev at 7 am doesn't disappoint . Worth a visit!!... More

Will never forget the brief experience on our train experience. They really need to get everything cleaned up at the station.

This was the place from where 35000 Czernowitz jewes and ten of thousands from the neigborhud cities and vilages, where loaded on cattle wagons and rush to Transnistria (between the Bog and Daniester rivers) concentration camps during the German - Romanian occupation in 1941.The building is classical. Richly decorated from inside and outside. Defiantly a "must see" place when you... More

The building of the railway station is very beautiful. We came a little bit to early before our train, so had to wait for it. As it was winter it was very cold inside. There was a pack of stray dogs and some cats runing around the territory and inside of the building! As it was January 2, right after... More

Average normal train station. Not a big, not complecated, one door IN - one door Out. Also has a rich history. Not far from the city-center, but need to take a taxi or 15min by foot walking a little bit to the hill.

Be aware there is an profound abscence of Latin lettering that may help you understand if you don't know cyrillic. The station lacks a 'big board' for information, you'll have to ask for your departure track/platform info etc. Agents seem to understand limitied English, but its helpful to write out your requests to hand to the agent or information kiosk... This train station In Chernivtsi was built during Austro-Hungarian times at the turn of the century and its’ architecture is reflected in this style. It is similar to the Chernivtsi Theatre which is located in the downtown section. Even though I did not go inside this year, the interior still retains its old design with high ceilings and beautiful stencils,... More
