A nice place to go walking around and the park including the botanical garden is free. Most of the flowers, etc are labeled. Students from the nearby Taurida University are the ones taking care of the garden. Although most people will not spend much time in Simferopol, if you are staying there it is worth a visit to the park....

It's a very nice park and botanical garden, pleasant place to walk, take pictures, enjoy flowers and relaks. There is river walk which goes from Salgirka park to Gagarin park and further close to railway station. You can walk for about 7 kilometers enjoying nature in the middle of the city.
