Was lucky to be there when man was swishing out disinfectant to discourage birds . normally locked. Interesting bas relief over door

This diminutive 9th century church (now permanently locked) is a sad remain of Trabzon's Byzantine past. On the outside, the only decoration consists of a relief over the side door, while the guidebooks say that the frescoes that once adorned the interior walls have been completely obliterated since 1923.
