After the bus shuttle drops you near this statue, it is a good navigation point as it is close the market and the marina and in walking distance of the bar street.

This is a very focal point in marmaris, important part in history but also nice place to sit and watch the world go by, aswell as helping with navigation! Very well looked after.

I caught my bus to and from this place heading to Icmeler. We were lucky to be here on the 19th May Youth day where they had made a large Turkish flag from spices. Sits at the start of the Marina and market. Make sure you walk up to the castle!

Great statue and obviously very well respected by the amount of visitors and locals around it. It made me want to know more about this man and how he shaped the modern Turkey and made a more secular and more relaxed and forward thinking country, I hope it can stay that way and not be dragged back to the middle... The statue of the founder of modern Turkey is a great focal point and meeting place for all the citizens and visitors to Marmaris. This is a place you must visit to appreciate the the ideals of Ataturk and his forward thinking of his country.
