nothing to dislike its beautiful set in the old part of town with cobble stone and flowering hanging baskets lining the streets , if you see a little old woman selling her wares be sure to buy something from her even if its only a bottle of water which in the heat of the day you will be glad for,a... Great little castle/museum and well worth the 8 lire fee. Takes you through the ottaman empire to the romans. Watch out for the little old lady who has a shop on the narrow hill up to the castle, she's very sweet but you struggle to get away empty handed !

A great piece of ancient Turkish history can be seen in the various rooms within this fabulous Castle. But it is not a place for any one with a disability to visit due to the location and amount of stairs getting into the different rooms. When inside the Castle there are great views across Marmaris Bay.over the town and into... More

Museum is locate inside a small castle, there are same sculptures from Greek and Rome ages. You can meet small turtles down the road. Exellent trip, and cheap admissions.

Museum is part of Marmaris Fort which gives some fantastic views across the town and bay. Security arrangements are varied with some people having to leave all bags with the guard (just left on a bench for anyone to take) but young attractive females being allowed to keep their rucksacks with them! Museum is small and not particularly good value... More

Visited here in April 2015. On the steps up to the castle there is a shop with an old lady outside. She outs out her hand and if you shake it she pulls you towards the merchandise and won't let go! We visited the first time just before 5pm and, although it says it is open until 7pm, they wouldn't... More

Hard to find the way (don't try finding the way from the harbour/cafe area) but once there it is clearly worth the effort. The views are good without being spectacular. The castle is not too high from sea level (see photo). Bags are removed at the entrance. Not much to get in (5L?) and quite a number of artefacts. Be... More

Visited in September Have visited the Castle & Museum before, but returned for the granddaughter. Spent one & a half hours having a good look around the different rooms & taking in the brilliant views overlooking the Bay of Marmaris Entrance fee was 16 TL (2 adults & 1 child)
