The museum is quite small but quite cheap in terms of entrance fee and worth the money paid. Watch out for the old lady selling things outside of the entrance as she is quite persuasive!

Small but well planned and interesting museum with themed rooms, at a good price. The castle itself is relatively modern having been rebuilt following almost total destruction during the first (I think) world war. The displays cover different periods and local area history. The museum courtyard is like a garden with the palms and plants interspersed with ancient pots, sculptures... More

This castle / museum is quite small, but there is still quite a lot to see inside and the views from the castle walls are good. Price was okay, and I would consider it a couple of hours well spent.

We had been there before many years ago but still wanted to climb up to the walls and see the city. There are 4-5 different rooms with sculptures, coins, amforas etc but not that much for 8 liras per person. A veryvery ancient looking grandmum is guarding the steps towards the castle museum and trying to sell souveniers, so be... More

Marmaris museum (or Marmaris Castle as it is also known) was a nice way to spend an hour or two. Reasonably priced. Can't remember exact cost but it was less than 30 Turkish Lira for 3 adults (which is less than £10.00). It has beautiful views over the harbour and some interesting artefacts displayed in several rooms within the castle.... More

Some of the best views of the harbour and marina can be taken from the castle walls and there are rooms showing the history of the region dotted around the castle. Watch out for the sweet old lady and her daughter selling trinkets just at the entrance to the castle she is just too good at selling you things you... More

Visited while on holiday in Marmaris with my boyfriend. Beautiful caste with amazing views. Though as others have mentioned, the steps to reach the caste are steep - not the easiest, especially in the heat. Worth the 8 Turkish Lira purely for the views, but don't expect too much from the 'museum' parts. There are just a few small exhibitions... More
