Hard to find the way (don't try finding the way from the harbour/cafe area) but once there it is clearly worth the effort. The views are good without being spectacular. The castle is not too high from sea level (see photo). Bags are removed at the entrance. Not much to get in (5L?) and quite a number of artefacts. Be... More

Visited in September Have visited the Castle & Museum before, but returned for the granddaughter. Spent one & a half hours having a good look around the different rooms & taking in the brilliant views overlooking the Bay of Marmaris Entrance fee was 16 TL (2 adults & 1 child)

Had to leave a small rucksack at the entrance and pay to go into a small rebuilt castle, with a good view over the Marina. There were some interesting exhibits but only worth an hour or less as a visitor.

Very small recently rebuilt castle with lots of artifacts and good views of Marmaris. Difficult to find as there are not many signs.

Well worth a visit. We had not realised there would be so many antiquities displayed from Knidos. The information boards in both Turkish/English were excellent. It took us a good hour and we could have stayed longer. The old narrow streets enroute to the castle are a delight.

We loved our visit there, in awe of many things that we saw there. We were in great admiration and full of respect with all the exhibits there. Very interesting, well worth a visit

It would be easy to visit the holiday resort of Marmaris and do nothing cultural. Marmaris castle and the museum inside are small but and interesting way to spend an hour. The old town around the castle is very interesting and has some traditional restaurants.

The building is heavily restored, but nevertheless has great views from the ramparts over the harbour and the bay.. The Knidos room is very good - some nice sculpture and good explanations (in Turkish and English) of how Knidos traded in antiquity.

It is, what you can read from internet - small place in lovely old town. You can see history there and enjoy views to Marmaris. I liked it very much. The old lady who is grabbing your hand, was also there by the entrance, thanks for warning here, I avoiced her :)
