I have just returned from a three week Christmas break visiting my daughter in Fethiye Mugla Turkey. During my stay I had two days fishing with Captain Deniz, captain of Aegean Soul-1. I had a day bait fishing that was great, no big fish but caught enough to feed the family. Second outing we were jig fishing, we had fish... More

Found an avenue of shops filled with bargins! Silver jewelry, shoes, souvenirs and clothes. Much more pleasant than shopping in the very hot Tuesday market and mostly same stuff.

Great bargains in the markets (legal copies) and very hospitable and friendly people, especially in the 'old market' area, with more restaurants and better prices stalls.

Great place still not spoilt with tourism plenty to do at realistic prices. The Fethiye bays are to die for, like going back in time Nd remember we filmed Skyfall here

I have been going to Fethiye for over 15 years now and it has grown considerably! The marina is a big favourite and a great place in the summer months in the evening, try the Hasan Kolcuoglu restaurant next to the Esnaf Hospital by the Marina, stunning food well worth a visit. Everything you could want you will find in... More

Fethiye has a lovely board-walk. And all the shops and boulevards are like ear shaped shore's parallel reflection towards inside. At the first place if you check a compass at marina place you could find your hotel directon towards sea :) but dont be panic, just follow the main street towards south it will curve left after muninipality building. it... Haggle city. Get ready to buy your "genuine fakes". Purses, bags, belts, shoes etc all with designer names but obviously lower quality. Haggle away knowing that if the stall holder doesnt accept your price the next stall is selling much the same and you can have another go! A few stall holders did use the F word though if you... A real working Turkish town as well as a tourist destination. The harbour and marina are worth seeing and the old town has pedestrian streets where you can buy most things and haggling is a must. The jewellery shops are very good with 14 ct gold much cheaper than 9ct here in uk.The Hamman (turkish bath) is a real old... More
