No doubt, an area of immense beauty and as stated in tourist guides, most spectacular natural site in the country. But the number of butterflies species has almost diminished over time. The beach at the bay of the valley is what makes the trip worthwhile. Set in a canyon with mountains as high as over 1000 feet, the beach offers... More

Took a Pioneer Travel boat trip from Oludeniz which made its first stop of the day here. Very stoney beach but beautiful views. Worth a visit. There are refreshments and other facilities here and many people camp here.

We visited in May 2014. The other half researched it and decided we could drive and walk down into the valley. So this review is based on trying to walk into the valley. All I can say is that you can if...... You like multi pitch climbing. You have experience of free climbing You have a healthy disregard for personal... More

It was a bit hard to climb up to the waterfall but totally worth it. There are ropes to help you climb up and the view from up there is also fantastic.

We visited the Butterfly valley as part of an organised boat trip. The walk up to the waterfall has very little shade so I would recommend taking plenty of water with you as it does take a good 15-20 minutes to get there. The terrain is also very rocky so make sure you wear something that is sensible and can... More

We took the water dolmas from OD to butterfly valley, waves a bit choppy making getting on and off the boat tricky! When we arrived at butterfly valley we were horrified at all the boat trips and masses of people. So many boats that the water dolmas had force it's way, quite literally, between the other boats. We headed to... More

The island was very nice, as was the sea of course, but unless you are there at a specific time of the year then you will not see the butterflies and it will cost you extra to walk up to the gorge to see them non existent butterflies.

First visited as part of a 6 island boat trip, the view from Rock Bar was incredible, felt like a film set. We returned later and stayed the night in a tent, where breakfast and dinner was included in a very reasonable price. The valley itself was gorgeous with many butterflies and a small waterfall. The valley is also home... More

The waterfall is dry at this time of year so don't bother with the walk in the heat. The beach is very stony so rake waterproof shoes.
