This is one experience I keep returning too. You have the choice of wonderful fresh fish from the Med and then you can have it cooked for you on the spot. Well you choose a restaurant in the market. There is Raki, beer or wine to drink and you can even have extras like mesa's, while waiting for the fish... More

this market is massive! its all under cover to stop you from being in the sun all the way round. they sell everything you can imagine, you will need to haggle though as they charge more than the usual gift shops. there is a café inside where you can get drinks etc, it did get really hot in there so... We have been to many markets in Turkey but this was the biggest by far. Stalls selling everything you can imagine. Such a big market we had to stop a couple of times for refreshments. It was lovely to sit and watch and soak up the atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Don't visit the Fish Market without shopping at this spice emporium. Tariq and his sisters have been mixing fragrances and spices for the local restaurants for years as have the generations before them. He gave us great advice and great service and we came home with a little bit of Turkey to share with family and friends. A brilliant shopping... More

We visited Fethiye Turkey in June and had couple of visits to the Fethiye Markets, you can literally find and buy anything and be ready to haggle. The fakes are very common and if you know how to judge quality and haggling, you can pick some great bargains. IN addition to fruits, vegetables, spices, bags, jewelry there's a whole section... Sellers are shouting things like 'buy my fake [--]!' - so they know it's rubbish as well as we do! A lot of it was overpriced, try out your haggling? My fella got a couple of £3 t shirts (one fake Converse, the other a Jack Daniels tee) as well as some fake Vans shoes for a fiver. I didn't... More

In reality it makes sense to pack a couple of pairs of shorts and buy the rest when you get to Turkey. And barter. Great fun and normally you will agree at around 60% of the opening price. Only worthwhile if you want stuff but worth a visit.
