This is a wonderful area - little mosque which has been beautifully restored, clock tower, fountains, feed the pigeons and generally just relax on the square on the benches or just watching the people or the sea.

You can't go to Izmir and not make a stop in Konak square. It is a landmark! It's beautiful and just steps from there you have an outdoor market that is closed on Sundays (unfortunately that is when I was there).

There are just so many people, bars, restaurants, cafes, shops and things around. I was impressed by how vivid it was.

This is the place to go to people watch and feed the pigeons. The history of the clock tower is interesting too. Nothing much to see but one of those places to tick of your list having been. Worth half an hour of anyone's time just being there and watching the people.

Part of every half day your of Izmir, the square includes a beautiful clock tour built in 1901 and a small mosque known for its beautiful glazed tiles.

The mosque is quite old and is very well preserved. The location is very good as it is a part of a large open area close to the sea where one can sit and relax

This is a great place to spend the morning, the the afternoon or all day. There is so much to see. The classic clock tower, and the small mosque are great for photos and a look at Izmir history. The streets are lined with shops, and there is an indoor bazaar where you can easily do your shopping for the... More
