Do yourself a favor and get out in the morning for a run along the nice cushioned running track that follows along the sea. Or join the locals on the grass in the evening with a bunch of beers and enjoy the night atmosphere. Or both. Simply beautiful.

Through out my life I have been at Kordonboyu countless times and always enjoyed the view and long walks. At times it could be crowded but also at times it could be very peaceful. Its worth every step.

The boardwalk is wonderful - cycle track and walkways with wide grassy areas where families meet/picnic/listen to music. On opposite side of road are pavement cafes and restaurants all with incredible views of the sea.

Due to the extreme heat in the summer, the best time to walk along the Kordon is in the evening. YOu'll see the local families hanging out, chatting and having food. The weather is cool and if you like to run or walk off all the Baklava, then the long straight sea view along the Kordon is the place to... More

Kordonboyu is an area in the center of Izmir along the coast with many bars, coffee shops and restaurants (particularly fish). It is very popular with locals for walking and fishing. I suggest you to have Turkish tea there and enjoy the sea view. There is a statue in memorial of freedom and also statue of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's mother... More
