It has been our favorite shopping mall ever since it opened it opened its doors several years ago. Though there are a few more Malls around it, it has a stable clientele due to the fact that it has the right mix of shops to fit the taste of old and young. If in Izmir, do visit.

If we didn't go to Ephesus I would have said its something to consider, but its really not all that. Izmir doesn't have much going on regarding tourist attractions so if you have run out of things to do and want to do go see some ruins, go for it, otherwise I wouldn't put it on your top 3.

The powers that be in Izmir, a thriving metropolis, have authorized excavation of centuries' old ruins of the Agora (translated "marketplace") situated not far from the famous Kameralti Pazar (bazaar). The easy to read explanatory plaques are well-placed and you can meander through the maze of ruins and get a feel for life as it once was. Because it is... More

The site was a bit disappointing. There are some interesting items and history here no doubt, but hard to see city pride in it. A bit of caretaking would go a long way in making this an appealing destination. It was a stop on a general city tour for us.

An interesting pile of stones from the Roman era. But the site does not stand out as anything particularly special and the huge car park in the background kind of spoils the photos!

I would not recommend going out of your way to visit these ruins. The Agora can be difficult to figure out, as the signage doesn't provide a thorough explanation. We visited this as part of a tour of Izmir, and without our guide's explanation, I never would have figured out why there were so many tombstones off to the side.... More

If already visited Efesus and/or Pergamon, the Agora is nothing. But if you are already strolling around Kemerali you should take 30 minutes to look around the never crowded archeological site. The city of Imir hopefully will do something to improve the image of this site as the sourrounding is not very nice.

Found it after a long walk uphill but it's the worst ruins I've seen in Turkey. Safe your walking for Ephesus, and the PMD circuit around Selcuk. Lots more organised stones to see than the Agora. Give it a miss
