We visited this underground complex as part of a one day tour from Goreme. It was one of the things we were most looking forward to and we were not disappointed. We had a lot of fun wondering around underground and I am just amazed that a group of people took the time and effort to build it. more

This is an inspiring place to visit for christians as the underground cities of Cappadocia were used last by the early christians when they were persecuted. I'm amazed at the cleverness of people when they are pushed into a corner. These Underground Cities were built by villagers to hide from armies. You have to get your imagination hard at work to "see" the city.
