The places to see are an old pottery store.. they show you how they make pottery live.. while the people are making it.. you can also try.. I tried... Another is a small walk beside red clay river.. it was romantic if u have some extra time, you can visit. More

The clay from the Red River is spun and shaped into all sorts of items. You can get all of them cheaper outside of Avanos! More

It's a very nice village where you can watch a pottery making and try to do by yourself. You can buy ceramics and pottery. Try to find Chez Ali Baba shop. They give the best deal for shopping. More

A short trip from Goreme and well worth it. The tour at the ceramics manufacturing studio was amazing (and quite educational too). Leave room in your luggage because you are going to want to buy as much as you can. More

We found nice restaurants, bakeries, and affordable kepob places downtown without the help of a guidebook or a website. You'll require little guidance to navigate this town. The food selection is not as wide as that which you'll find in Göreme, but restaurants in Avanos offer larger portions, interesting tastes, and good value. More

Great little town about 8 kilometers away from Gerome. Fantastic for pottery and rugs. Would recommend this town to anyone traveling to cappadocia. Enjoy! More
