An absolute must for anyone staying in the Goreme area. We walked up from Goreme - we are in our 60s and my husband has rheumatoid arthritis so not bad- steep hill at the end . The site has flat, well maintained paths. Go in the morning if possible, to miss the tour parties. The park is much quieter if... More

To see this valley was a really aesthetic pleasure. The Mother Nature made the rocks and shapes. Ancient peoples gave a human touch and today we enjoy the whole vision. I was very, very happy, the privilege to see this was an unexpected gift of the life.

If you're in Cappadocia this place is one of the "must to see" destinations. Well kept cave museum with several cave churches and moansteries, living spaces etc. I'd recommend to go and visit this place.

One of The most amazing placas to visit in Capadoccia. Dont miss out, it's obligatory to visit! You will find those frescos on The walls of the churchs in caves from XI century.

Honestly, the hills across the open air museum I found more interesting, less crowded, and better for picturesque scenery.

We went to Zelve after Goreme Open Air and are so glad we did. It's much less popular and also less crowded, which was great for us. The path/trail is quite long and there are lots of cave dwellings to explore. You can enter many of them and take wonderful pictures. I would suggest adding Zelve to your itinerary. Also,... More

It was wonderful to the area. However, you have to pay extra 12TL to see the best preserved church in the cave. (the Admission is 25TL)

We were very close in nearly skipping this site. For some reason, tour guides and some locals discredit it since the collapse of some of the settlements in favor of the more popular sites. In line with other reviews, I found the complete opposite. It was much better than Open Air Museum and most other sights. It felt removed from... More
