Much work has been done on this site and continues to be active.
The excavation of the terrace houses is fantastic.the library is very beautiful
It is best to get there as early as possible to get a feel of the place before the hoards descend

We rented a car in Kusadasi and went to several ruin sites all the way down to Didim and thoroughly enjoyed them all. They were all a little different and Priene was one of the largest and most varied of them all. Nice litte theatre and standing columns plus a large village below with exhibition grounds and many houses and...

A great site to visit. There is a bit of a hill walk to the site but it is well worthwhile.

If you enjoy walking back in time through a majestic setting, role-playing in a beautifully preserved Greek Theater and the road less traveled, you will enjoy this beautifully preserved Hellenistic ruin.
We went later in the day and enjoyed magnificent lighting walking through the stone streets and marveling at the ruins of a beautiful 4th century BCE Ionian city state....
