One of the powerhouses of the ancient world, this place is well preserved and quite interesting to see. The layout and the location of the site are quite informative and enhance one's understanding of how such a place could have been the force that it was. GO AND SEE.

Once a major port of the Ionian League, Miletus was renowned as a centre for art, politics and industry. It maintained its importance for 1400 years, from 700BC, until its harbour filled with silt. Two lions still guard the entrance. There is quite a deal to see as the site is expansive. Archaeological work is underway near the old harbour... More

We wandered into Miletus just we happened to drive by and saw the amphitheater from the road. For the 5 Turkish lira we invested in admission, we wandered for several hours...and encountered about 10 other people. The amphitheater is very well-preserved and open for access at all levels. The scattered sites around the amphitheater are also interesting. We enjoyed our... More

We didn't know what to expect and had low expectations since we decided to add it on to our ruin site visits, but it was well worth it. The stadium is the reason to go (not much else is there), but it's huge and very impressive. You can walk all through it and get a real sense for its size... More

This is a place that is worth every minute of driving to get there. The site is for the most part very quiet, very open, and larger than you might think. The stadium is huge and parts are in good shape and other parts just hanging in there. Be sure to walk the entire site as there is a lot... More

Booked visit with Ozzy from Sundail tours. Great visit to all 3 sites. Guide was excellent and the ruins were great to see and explore.
