You can use bus or taxi or rental car to get right to the top, but walking along old walls and Red Tower is more rewarding. At the top you can read a little bit about history of castle, but if you are enthusiast better find something more on the net beforehand. You can take impressive photos from the castle.... More

A bus or taxi is available from the base of the mountain but you'll miss so much, the castle walls are extensive, the views wonderful, and of course the roadside cafes. Stroll up, it's not too taxing. or if you are wary get the bus up and stroll down. Be wary of 'Helpful friendly' locals who insist they so you... More

To reach the castle you can walk from the Red Tower area, quite steep or up the road from the Cleopatra beach area. There are lots of taxis & a "City bus" which starts from the main dolmus station. The views over the coastal area & city are excellent on the way up & get better the higher you go.... More

This castle situated on a very steep hill, close to the harbour of Alanya is a must if you are in Alanya. Actually you cannot avoid seeing this landmark, which is visible almost wherever you are. The view is really stunning and the castle ruins themselves are very impressive

We got a taxi up to the castle and such rewarded with spectacular views from the top. We also visited the mosque and the taxi driver waited for us and dropped us off at the harbour for a well deserved refreshment at one of the cafes on the queyside

History enthusiasth will love 13 century Seljuk walls and castle, others unprepared to walk uphill on a hot summer day will say "is that all?". So, use the rent-a-car o taxi if you want to treat yourself with a nice view on Alanya city and the blue open sea on the other side.

First of all, how to get there. Take the no. 4 bus for 2 TL, stops in front of the castle or take a cab. Always fix the price with the driver as they can charge you anything between 20 TL and 25 euros (70 TL). The entrance fee is 15 TL. I`m a history enthusiast so Turkey in general... More
