This ribat is opposite to the mausoleum and on the coastline near the beach and marina. Huge place but sadly it is closed for repairs..still worth seeing this if you are staying in PEK/Sousse/Skanes.

Was looking forward to visiting here as we first visited 20yrs ago. Sadly it has been closed since October. Monastir has a lovely beach so we just enjoyed the lovely weather instead. Go on the metro from Sousse 2dinar return.

Please note that the Ribat is closed for repairs because of damage caused by October's earthquake. Not expected to Open until July - check before you go! We took the metro from Sousse - just 1 dinar single fare

Great insight into the town's military history, with good views across the town and to the mosque next door.

It was closed for renovations when we visited in February 2014. It was nevertheless nice to walk around the outside of the fort.
