Side trip to the castle. Well worth it. Takes 5 minutes to get there by pontoon from the castle. Lots of boats. Very interesting.

The captain's quarters are gorgeous and presumed to be very comfortable. The boats on display are the finest of the era.

The restored Yacht House along with the fleet of Boldt yachts is definitely worth visiting. You can take a water shuttle to the Yacht House which is located on Wellesley Island prior to or after a self-tour of the Boldt Castle and grounds located on Heart Island.

You don't have to love wooden boats to visit this Yacht House connected to the short history of Boldt Castle. Well restored wooden craft and the boat house quarters for the "manager"of the boat house are worth the extra $2.00 ticket price.

You'll get a discounted price if you add it on to your Boldt Castle ticket. It's worth going...the boats, the caretakers quarters and original letters from George Boldt that they saved are definitely something to looks at. If we had more time, we would have taken a stroll down the road behind it.....

Fabulous wooden boats from a different era. Completely restored with stories and photos of how they were used. Leisure, regattas, cruising, etc. They have done a great job of restoring the boathouse and the boats. Even had a tour guide (briefly)that gave us additional history. Easy to take the shuttle from Boldt Castle or vice versa.

I enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds and castle, The only thing I disliked was the cost of tickets to take the tour.

The tragic love story does not overshadow the loveliness of this treasure. A walk around the grounds to view the well kept flowers and trees and vistas across the river. The building is finally getting the care and restoration it deserved, and I look forward to a return visit to see the lasted restorations. The boat ride to and from... More
