We did not have our passports and also didn't have the time so we just took the bridge over to Wellsley Island and toured some of the homes and boat houses. Didn't realize there was a duty free stop but I'm not sure you can access it from the US side. Think you have to go over into Canada, then... More

Very nice bridge with beautiful scenery. I especially liked the duty free shop nearby - things seemed to be priced remarkably low. I picked up a twelve pack of Canadian microbrew beer for $9.

You'll need to do just that so you can get from Wellesley Island to other attractions. Along the way, enjoy the view either from your car or by walking out onto the bridge. Go at several times during the day so you can see the changing light and reflections. There's a charge going northbound onto Wellesley Island but passes are... More

We went over this bridge in mid-morning. There is a toll of $3.25 going from Canada to USA. No toll going back into Canada. We were not crossing the border--just had some questions and business with US Immigration. They were very polite and helpful. And the views from the bridge are awesome! Just lovely!

Took the thousands islands bridge to Ontario. It was a pretty ride over the river and across the islands. It does cost a toll on both sides and you could walk it if you wanted as well.

Our group went over the bridge in late afternoon and had a wonderful view of the river and islands but the driver of course had to keep his eyes on the bridge lanes and missed most of our "view"! There is a charge for going over the bridges....two each way...pay once....We were headed for Kingston for dinner and the sunset... More

We walked on the Canadian span. Park just before the Toll gate on the Canadian side of the bridge. The walk across both spans is about 1.5 miles round trip. Option to continue walking to the Observation Tower. Great views from the bridge. I would recommend going in the morning, because the views (and photographs) are better toward the West,... More

My wife and I went tooling around the 1000 Island region and crossed the border into Canada via the 1000 Island Bridge. The Border Patrol app indicated that the wait was to be 50 minutes but we only had to wait for less than 25 at the border in Canada. The Canadian customs officers were professional, friendly and proper, which... More
