Despite driving somewhere near on several occasions, despite putting it into our SatNav we never managed to find Thalang National Museum - so sadly nothing to report.

The National Museum is open Wednesdays-Sundays from 9:00-4:00. It's closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and public holidays. There are two outdoor exhibits including one on the sea gypsies and traditional food in Phuket, but unfortunately the information presented is only in the Thai language.

Worth visiting along with the Heroines Monument which it is a few hundred yards from. Can easily be reached by bus or bicycle from Phuket Town and is on the road to Bangrong from the Heroines Monument. It is easy to miss as it is 200 yards back from the main road and is partially obscured by a large building... More

Good to see a bit of genuine local history and culture in Phuket but a bit run down unfortunately. Quite informative and cheap enough for a wet day?

If one is interested in the historical back ground of the part of Phuket, why not spend an hour at Thaland National Museum
