There is no real beach to speak of here really but we loved the laid-back vibe of the town, after the crowds of Karon (where we were based). We took a boat out to Bon Island and found it so relaxing. Small beach but very pretty. We also had a late lunch at one of the outdoor seafood grill restaurants... More

The beach is a grubby strip of dirty sand. No umbrellas or recliners. Lots of boats and piratical boatmen add flavour. Pretty good infrastructure, new restaurants, breakfast points, 24/7 shops, massages, seafood market, Rawai Pier and the best part is you can hire a boat on the beach to go to the nearest island.

I was expecting a lot more from this beach and it was not as I expected. Dangerous walkways as all uneven and no street lighting in places.

This is not a beach for swimming (go to Nai Harn Beach for swimming) but full of Long Boats that you van rent. Lots of bars and restaurants that you can visit though.

Rawai offers some of the best places for eating with a beautiful view on the island. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch right down on the front.
