I brought 7 students from UK to this palace and I think they liked it. I recommend you walk up and take the cable car down. You'll have the chance to see or even play with hundreds of monkeys. The palace itself is not big but quite lovely. More

If you are driving down to Prachuap (not sure why it's listed in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province) this is a great place to stop on the way. Phra Nakhon Khiri, also called "Khao Wang" is just along Highway 4 about 1and1/2 to 2 hours south of Bangkok. It's a great place to stretch the legs for an hour or more... More
