Winding its way through a truly dramatic 1400 rai former tin mine site in the heart of Phuket, Red Mountain is one of Asia's most exciting new courses that officially opened in 2008. The course has been cleverly routed to take advantage of a huge variety of landforms and dizzying elevation changes. Scars left from the tin mine era have been imaginatively incorporated into the overall scheme, creating a unique character at the same time as establishing an indelible link with an important era in the Island's past. Designer Jon Morrow and co-designer Al Tikkanen, have created a highly strategic and challenging 6,900 yard lay out to complement the shorter and gentler Loch Palm which is next door. While the course is undoubtedly challenging, numerous risk and reward options create a fun playing environment, an exhilarating test of golf and a breathtaking scenic tour around a course that has become a golfing landmark in the region.

Stunning golf course - excellent condition all round (except bunkers were slightly damaged from recent heavy rains). The views are incredible and the caddy I had (#49) was excellent. It is hot as always here but tee-of early and you can get most of the front nine done before the heat really kicks in. Very challenging though and make sure... More

What a magnificent golf course. Organisation at the course was magnificent, caddies were knowledgeable and humorous , the course itself was a photographers dream . For the avid golfer it represents a good challenge and you will want to return. Can be a bit expensive if you hire clubs etc.

We played here twice over a long weekend in Phuket. The course is beautifully laid out, challenging, but not unnecessarily difficult. Hilly in parts and undulating, the fairways are quite wide so as not to be intimidating, even for the weekend golfer. It rained quite a bit while we were there, mostly light showers, but the surface water seemed to... More

Although the rains kicked in, the staff and course was amazing. Some of the best holes in Asia, definitely for advance golfers. I struggle to get through it, but the caddy was really nice and gave very helpful advice. She was very professional and really knows the course well. Highly recommended.

Every aspect of this operation is top class, free driving range balls, quality caddies, stunningly manicured fairways and greens ( with stimpmeter readings), take your time and enjoy this classy layout, you can't walk it, it's too steep in places, take your camera and get ready to be immersed in the jungle.... Only 300 baht price difference between this and... More

Had tee time very early, but with the sunrise above the mountains it was really worthy. Regardless it was raining last night the course was in top condition. I can only recommend this place and hope I will be back playing here again very soon.

Only one word says it all...fantastic golf experience even though it rained all day when i played there! Great golf course, offers stunning view and great challenge on every hole...of course the 17th hole par 3 was just breathtaking...too bad I couldn't get a par even my shot landed on the green. Hope can visit another course just like this... More

I asked Phuket Golf to recommend a course that would challenge me and at the same time not crush me. Fortunately I am more resilient than I thought. This course is simply stunning, with every hole offering a different challenge. Fairways were beautifully grassed, rough was fair and the jungle simply impenetrable. The lakes are deep and plentiful, the bunkers... More
