Loved freedom beach but would suggest getting a long tail from Patong by 8-8.30am.Its best to be there early before the hoards arrive. We payed 1300 baht return by long tail,it was the best price I could get for 2 people. We stayed for three and a half hours. You don't need to pay the driver till he drops you back to... More

the beach is not bad but similan is far more better. so if you need to spend money on a beach i suggest you book a similan tour.

The beach itself is lovely, with palm trees, clear water great for swimming and snorkeling (but rocky when the tide is low), and from what I could tell the beach and water was clean. They have a small restaurant who serve simple food, and a free toilet / shower. We didn't experience any of the hassling to pay for access... More

Reached this beach via long tail boat (THB500 per person return) which we took from the Amari Hotel. I believe there are also long tail boats from Patong Beach (in front of the Merlin Hotel). The trip takes around 15/20minutes and passes Paradise Beach (looked tiny and crowded) before reaching Freedom Beach. We liked this beach because there was ample... More

When we arrived in Patong this year we were shocked to discover that the army had removed all the loungers!! Hence our trip here for the day... Beautiful beach that does have loungers as promised but they are set back from the beach and we spent the day moving to be in the sun. As soon as we arrived we... More

A lot of hassle and expense to get there but worth it as it is beautiful and not so crowded as Patong main beach.

good place to be during the day. only problem is getting there. you definitely have to negotiate a good price with a long tail boat to get there. although i heard there is a road / hike which can take you there. We ended up paying $1300 baht to get there and back. it was worth it though.
