The stall holders can be very greedy but if you haggle right u can get some awesome items for cheap!! They will no doubt try and rip you off sensate sure u go to a few different stalls cause they all have the same stuff and see what there gonna give u and then take that price back to another... Have been shopping here on every visit to Phuket for the last 5 years.Sadly though the markets are not the same as they used to be. Most of the Thai vendors are gone and replaced by Burmese and indians. These people are more "aggressive" than the thai's and not as friendly. There are better options around Patong. Look for the... While the prices here are inflated compared to Phuket town, they are much more reasonable than downtown Patong beach or the big new shiny shopping mall. You will find all your staples such as harem pants, maxi skirts, shorts, t-shirts, dresses etc at these markets. Some of the shop keepers can be a little rude but overall we found this... More

We shopped here for a whole night and had to pass through some over-sexed and overcrowded streets to find it but it was well worth it. Lots of knockoff items sold around here and good deals if you're good at bargaining. Avoid main strip of bars and 'ping pong' shows because unless you're looking for a college kid-ridden strip of... I have been here a few times over the last 2 years and always mange to find a bargain. Some retailers might try a silly high price to start off with, don't be afraid to haggle, they expect that. Usually cheaper than the main Patong rd shops as they don't get as much traffic. Same stuff as the main street... More

I went to Otop shopping the first day I got to Patong after visiting Bangkok. You need to be ready to bargain and expect them to eye roll or say no and walk away or just be blatantly rude. For me when this happened I just walked away and go elsewhere... Most the shops in Otop are offering the same... More

Need to master bargaining before heading here. Then get most of your shopping done here because of the endless rows of stalls, of pretty much everything you can think of, clothes, souveniers, shoes, fabrics, headphones, phone accessories. Dont forget to head down towards the beach too, there are some good stalls not to miss.

Everything is here, just down from the Patong Merlin, our tailor is situated here re "TOP TONY TAILER", we have used him for the last 3 trips and we have received excellent service for suits, shirts, coats or whatever you want made, he is from Nepal and they keep your measurements on record for 5 years, great. Heaps of stalls,... More
