That island is not the typical one (sand, beach etc'). It's floating over the water of Phang Nga Bay, just near the famous James Bond Island. It's worth the stop if ypu already traveling in the bay and the tour boats will probably stop there for quick tour and meal. I suggest getting there by private boat sailing from Tha... More

Let me tell you the story of Koh Panyee first... About 300 years ago, some families of fishermen from Indonasia ventured in different directions, looking for better places for fishing and eventually settling down. The pact was that if a family does manage to find such a place, they would put a white flag on the top of the hill.... More

We were taken to the Floating Muslim Village as part of a speedboat trip to Bond Island. We had not realised we were eating there and thought the hour we were given was to including eating. So most of our time was spent exploring the floating village. Good choice. You come up the pontoon and actually enter the village by... More

Very impressive how people live there, the way they are building and living makes it special in its kind, can go for that during a trip for the different islands..

Poor, unfriendly service from restaurant staff, especially compared to other parts of Thailand. No smiles, no talking, just throw your food on the table, and push you out the door. My mobile phone was stolen from the rest room, when there was no-one in the restaurant but us and maybe 12 other people, all of them local tour operators or... More

It is astounding to see a whole village built in the sea , it is even more amazing to see their facilities and how they operate sooo normally. BUT beware - it is VERY expensive and the inhabitants or sales ladies are not always too friendly .

We sailed in to see the fishing village only to discover it was full of garbage, poverty, slums, over priced junk, children being forced to beg for money, and lady boys feeding monkeys with baby bottles, some monkeys in diapers. The worst and upsetting site was a majestic full grown very unhappy wild eagle tied at to a stick and... More

I visited the floating Muslim village that was started by Maylasian fishermen when we were out on the bay. We weren't forced to eat here, we actually didn't eat here but we did visit the school. As a teacher I love viewing schools around the world. This was the first floating school I've seen. The kindergarteners were napping on their... More

Stopped by this village on a sea kayaking/ James bond Island tour. Very interesting village built completely on stilts. A very unique opportunity to see how a small group of people live on the fringe in the middle of the ocean. As a soccer fan and as seen as a checkpoint on the amazing race, the floating soccer field was... More
