dirty sand covered in garbage and while it looked nice - lovely calm waves lapping at the shore, the sea was full of jelly fish

There are few hotels around this beach. However, the beach is a bit dark sand which is different from other beaches in Krabi. You have to rent a car to move around this place because it is long distance from Krabi town.

Had Yao is not for everyone. If you're looking for lifestyle offerings, you better go Ao Nang. This area is basically a village of plantation, small towns and homes. It is vast land and getting from the main road to Had Yao Beach by road is about 20-25min, depending on how familiar you're. On certain roads there are no street... More

This place just has a few small resorts & very few amenities. The beach & sea by no means compare to the beauty of say Railay. On the plus side it is very quiet. I suspect a resort area waiting to happen but recession has put things on hold?

We stayed in Had Yao at the beginning of our holiday after we spent the weekend in Bangkok. It's a good place to relax and come down as it's very quiet & has a nice sunset. You can walk for ages and nothing will disturb you. We stayed at The Beach Boutique Resort, which was good too. There are nicer... More

As Had Yao is a small resort with only a few Villa's and small resorts, the beach is not well maintained. I believe that it was hit by the Tsunami and hasn't done much since. Although the beach is long a quiet there isn't much soft sand and it is quite dirty. I'm sure it will improve over the next... More

I find it hard to move around if you were to stay here without a rental car or driver arrangement.
