Good for a few hours.

This is a nice museum that focuses on the history of the ESAN district. That history is interesting and stretches back 4000 years.

We went to the National Museum whilst in Khon Kaen for a few days, we walked to the museum on New Year's eve and it was free for all visitors. The museum has a large garden outside and most exhibits have English and Thai. We didn't read all the information but you can spend a good hour inside. There are... More

I found that this museum doesn't have many displays and is not open all the time. Not many tuk tuk drivers know where it is let alone when its open

Since Khon Kean is just a feel steps from Laos, this museum show the diversity of cross borders cultural. And you will find the original silk making technique here.

An oasis in the city that informs and educates. The staff are helpful and efficient. Well worth a couple of hours to learn about the history of the region.

I like the in door display but outdoor display should to be renovated. In the gallery you will see the artifacts from many archaeological site in Khon Kaen and the upper northeastern of Thailand.

They've got bilingual information presenting the history of Khon Kaen and Isann. Very quiet and cool with air-cons. Exhibition room is pretty cool cuz you can see the models of the ancient time. :) Free for Thais 10 or 20 Baht for Foreigners (I don't remember)

When I visited, I saw a group of students with a teacher, so obviously very good learning sources and good destination for educational purposes. It was pity that there were short time power-cut several times during my visit.
