first of all- i believe there is a huge difference between the morning tour ( expensive one) and the quick afternoon trips. in the morning tour- you get to spend lots of time with cubs, younger tigers and mature ones. you get to play with them, wash them, walk them, feed them, watch their playtime etc. i was in awe... more

On my recent trip to Thailand I had every intention of spending 2 nights in Kanchanaburi however I had no intention of visiting Tiger Temple, unknown to me it was closer to River Kwai Jungle Raft Floating Resort than I realised, I got a lift there, however, the local bus goes past Tiger Temple if you have no other means... more

Make sure you're wearing long shorts/pants and covered t-shirt b/c they will make you buy their clothes rather than rent them. I was not impressed that I had to purchase their clothes - i guess another money generation for them. The 500B entrance fee doesn't really get you that much, other than posing by the large tigers for a picture.... more

I had heard about the Tiger Temple from The Amazing Race and made sure to book a day trip while in Bangkok. The experience was surreal as you are able to touch and have your picture taken with full-grown tigers and cubs, however everyone in my group felt terrible that we had come. The tigers are unresponsive, and appear to... more

My husband and I had booked our trip to the Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi on line before we left the UK for our holiday in Thailand and were very excited. We were collected from our hotel in Bangkok at 5am and it took approx 2 ¼ hours to get to the Temple. I had worn dark clothing as is advised,... more

The Tiger Temple is a fantastic place. It is a must for those who like animals and want to have a unique experience to touch and stay close to the tigers. Hint: the entrance of Tiger Temple usually includes tuch the tigers and know a little about their habitat. Paying a little more (in Oct/2009 were 1000 baths), you can... more

I have read all the reviews and these Tigers are lovingly cared for by the monks and the local and international volunteers. Yes the canyon is hot in the afternoon when the bus loads of tourists come by and you are one of a hundred or so. However if you do the morning tour you will see the difference. It... more

We paid 500 baht entrance fee, which was fine with us - as this experience was definitely unique to Thailand. You first walk down into the canyon which you can understand straight away why some people beleive the tigers have been drugged because it is incredibly hot in the canyon and we know that animals laze around placid when it... more
