I never thought that would be something I could say. Although I enjoyed my ride and elephant, it would have been better if the beasts were treated better. They are a graceful beast.

We had such a great day at the Elephants World! I always wanted to spend time with elephants and learn about them. What I did not want to do is to go to such a place like a tourist elephant riding spot, where the animals are just there for working and not treated well. There are lots of places like...

Our visit was in the afternoon when a nice dip in the river was in order - and that's exactly what we got! We rode to the river 'bareback' on a beautiful creature who was very gentle given her size. When we got there, she took great delight in squirting us with water and trying to tip us off which,...

I opted for the excursion that would allow me to ride the elephant with no seat. They unhooked the seat from the elephant and I rode the elephant in the position normally taken by the mahout (he rode behind). We walked the beautiful creature into the river where she proceeded to dump me in the water. After climbing back on...

We ALL loved it (6 yo, Mum, Dad & friend visiting from Holland). Elephant World is about 45 kms outside the main...

On returning to Elephant world we were shocked to discover, that after our last visit it was free of charge but donations accepted, this time we didn't even go in as they now charge 1500B per person, but what really got up my back is it is only 500 for Thai's, this has the stamp of Tiger Temple.

This was an experience of a lifetime and I would recommend anyone and everyone attend. You truly get to go and help out and really see these amazing volunteers and the mahouts as they care for these elephants that have been abused or mistreated.
Every single moment was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to go back! From feeding the...

This place is trying to do it right, with limits funds. So the 1500baht they charge it worth their mission......to work for the elephants and not have them work for us.
Plan a full day, feeding, cooking, cleaning, watching, lunching, swimming, just being with the elephants. You can get as hands on as you wish. Do, cause it's so magical...
