We did have fun taking a "bath" with the elephants by sitting on them and having the elephant spray us with water out of his trunk! However we didnt like that they were chained up when we got there and guide had to use his dager to get the elephant to listen to him quiet often. Our guide asked for... More

It's not the smoothest ride but it does give you a chance to see how powerful and gentle these large elephants are. More

the camp is supposedly a shelter for old and injured elephants. The elephants seemed to be well treated. We rode them to the river and they went in with us on them. We did not get wet. You can opt to give them a bath but we did not choose this option. The ride was a lot of fun, and... More

The Wangpo camp is clean and orderly. The elephants seem be happy enough but the staff were quite reserved. We were the only people there when we visited and enjoyed the ride then the swim with an elephant. It is a rare treat to be able to do this. The let down is the staff being so reserved. More

We went to the elephant camp with a bit of trepidation as we had not heard good things about the tiger temple and the way the animals are kept. We were the first customers of the day so were concerned when we turned up to see all the elephants chained to the ground by their feet by chains that were... More

I enjoyed the elephant ride... they're extremely well trained and stunning animals. The guides will try to get tips out of you by offering elephant hair braided rings (mine wanted 200 baht for it) and by making you hats out of leaves and flowers. I didn't mind offering a reasonable tip, but hate being asked/pressured to offer a gratuity. More

I do not know whether exactly where we were but it was the "ride" on the elephant . We attended, as one of the points of our trip to Kanchanaburi. This was combined with the bamboo rafting, which was the most boring thing in the world. And the elephants? journey rather boring and very uncomfortable. We succeeded because we were... More
