In keeping with his other over the top works of art around Chiang Rai (which include the White Temple and the street lamp posts in the middle of the main road in town) there is an awful fascination with this venue! I find it overly ornate, both day and night - yet each time I make a road trip from... More

We went past it during the day on our way to the market. It is pretty. I never went there at night so I can't say anything about the lights. Was very useful as a land, ark to orientate myself when walking though, as it is marked on the local maps as well as on google maps.

The clock tower is in the middle of Town and looks very good during the day. However, turn up at 7,8 or 9pm and the tower giver a stunning light and music display. Only last about 7 minutes so well worth a stop. Stand in the middle of the road for the best view.

If you go out for dinner, snd you are in a good mood, why not? But no need if you are far away.... Maybe you have to be a bit drunk or so to enjoy it. The creater is the same as the man that creates the White Temple. The old clocktower was not nice enough in his eyes, well....... More

What can there be said about such an intricate piece? I've been in Thailand long enough to think it's not some old relic. It seems like everywhere you go they're just putting the finishing touches on something a westerner might thing is as old as the hills! Don't get me wrong! It's beautiful! When the clock strikes 7 at night... More

Center of Chiang Rai is in sign of Chalermchai Kositpipat. It's nice to drink a tea, looking on golden watch at square.

It's nice to see if you're in town anyway. A clock tower, with typical Thai decorations, and some nice restaurants in the area. Visit it, it's free.

Go there at 7.00 pm and there is a light show and music which is definitely worth seeing. During the day it is quite stunning a large gold monument which changes colours at night.

We got a taxi here from Le Meridien, it cost a whole 60 baht, and sat in a small restaurant having a drink while waiting for the show to begin, and I did not expect to be enthralled by it, but I was. The music and the changing colours had me spell bound and I stood and watched the whole... More
