A nice addition to the busy highway that it's in the middle of, but nothing compared to the artwork in the major temples in Chiang Rai.

The clock tower is just a big gold, well, clock tower. BUT just next to it, on the road, is a fantastic Rotti vendor. This makes the clock tower VERY worth while visiting!

When you're in Chiang Rai you must see this! It runs three times each night at 7, 8 and 9pm. A crowd gathers 5-10 minutes before the hour. You'll find several restaurants and street food vendors selling food and drinks in the vicinity as well. Clock strikes the hour first. Then the lights begin to change colors and the music... More

Well the new clock tower has to be seen at night striking the hour, it's a musical light show with moving mechanical parts, it is subjective you will either love or hate it.

We were fortunate to be here just before it struck 8pm. That was when the light show comes on. The clock tower is spot-lit with different colours in succession while there are chimes and music blaring out from nearby lamp posts. Quite a spectacle!

The clock plays music and turns different colours on the hour in the evening, it is lovely to sit and have a drink at one of the bars close by and watch it.

If you're walking past at 7, 8, or 9pm, this is definitely worth watching. The clock lights up in a really lovely way and the music is nicely atmospheric. It lasts for about 10 minutes.

During the day, it is a brilliant gold and looks ancient and majestic but asleep, you'll never guess that at night, it is colourful and flashes and changes colour and alive! it slumbers in the day and awakens at night!

The Clock Tower in Chiang Rai is really worth seeing at night on the hour. It changes into numerous colours by lighting with classical Thai music playing. Lasts several minutes. Quite spectacular.
