The view was breath taking. My friends and I went in December which is Thailand's peak season and there where a lot of people. There both tourist and local people. We went at 3 am so we can beat traffic and boy we where wrong. Some people were even more earlier. It was a beautiful view. The only part was... More

The summit at Phu Chi Fa is stunning, with mountains rising out of the fog on the Laos side of the ridge at sunrise each day. The views are beautiful and ever changing, but it was very busy the two days we were there in December 2014, with hundreds of people focusing on selfies rather than the view ! Searching... More

Phu Chi Fa is well-known for THAT cliff-top where you peer into the blanket of clouds over the mountains and valley... and further into Laos. The sunrise is the main attraction where you get to see the sun slowly rise and shine its rays upon the wooly clouds. Something different to experience. Some travel as far as Chiang Rai for... More

We drove from Chiang Rai to Phu Chi Fa in the afternoon. I recommend getting there during midday to set up/ save spot your tent since they do fill up pretty quickly. We went up during sunset, the car service to the walking point is 30Baht/ one way, once they drop you off you have to walk another 700 meters... More

I visited there on December that is said as the best season to visit the mountain. I left Chiang Rai at 4:00 am hiring a car and driver. But it was cold and foggy in the mountain. The only things I could see were the mist and the cloud of people. Even if it was very clear in the lower... More

The last less than 1 km from the car park; is worth taking time as you make your way to the topmost viewing point. Photographer's paradise... The hike is not so strenuous (well!! this is very subjective though); I have seen local people of varied age making to the topmost point; while few of them stopping before the tip. I... More

I went up for the most spectacular sunset ever. Tomorrow morning I'll go take in the sunrise as well. There were only 3 or 4 people at sunset. Lots of bungalows in and near the village to choose from. Route 93 is lovely on a bicycle. Surely lovely on a motorbike or car as well.

This is a very newbie friendly hike mountain. It is a short hike about 1 hour long. Once you reach the top there is a very good view of the surrounding. At the bottom you can buy some food like noodles, drinks and grill pork to replenish your energy.

This is a romantic getaway trip that is quite amazing for its beauty and natural scenery, a top pick from our list of places to visit in Thailand..my wife and I highly recommend you visit the northern "Golden Triangle" and visit Chiang Rai and make the drive out to see Phu Chi Fa. The hike up is about 1 kilometer, But the viwe is incredable. It is VERY popular with Thai teens for new years, and the first sunrise of the new year. It is the ultimate lovers leap as well. there are NO guard rails and the drop is impressive. The price is good as well $0.00
